This song is very special to me. It was sung to me, at my bedtime and I sang it to my children and grandchildren. When my older sister (who was the one who sang this to me), lay dying in her bed and not responding to anyone, including her daughter, I held her hand and softly sang this song to her. She managed a faint smile and tightened her hold on my hand. She died this year a week before mother’s day. This incident occurred during that week. ~ Linda D’Amico
