Sometimes we pack away our traumatic experiences into little boxes stored within ourselves, but we think we are healed. We can think about and even talk about the experiences calmly and rationally. Then one day something happens, a trigger of some kind and BOOM! The boxes start opening up and that’s when we realize that we are not really healed.
